Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School 1992 began studying marine biology. Bossard got her start working in the commercial seafood sector in the year 1999. At the time she worked on Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut boat, which was transformed into a fish tender. Bossard got married to Aritan in 1999. The two have joined in fighting for their company. They support conservative, profitable management of renewable seafood resources. Otolith was founded by Philadelphia through Bella Bossard and is currently mother to two kids who are aged three and one Bossard. Bossard in 2007, a mother of two children Bella aged 3 and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia from her home in Canada opened otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. In July 2016, Bossard along with her daughter Isabella age 12 and son Andre aged 10 returned to Southeast Alaska annually each summer to work as deckhands throughout the wild salmon harvest in summer. Hooks and lines are used to collect their fish, after which they join Aritan for local processors for 2 months. Then they continue to grow their direct seafood sale via Otolith Sustainable Seafood.
